For Our Earth & Your Future
When we look at sustainability and environmental impacts, of course, the conversation is extensive and layered, especially on the global scale. But when it comes to building a brand new home, at BLH, we hone in on detail and support you in working through all of the customisations and selections that can have a big impact on your home’s efficiency, including, as a starting point, your new home meeting the minimum standard of a 6 star energy rating (soon to be 7 star – more on that later.
Here are just some of the ways we support you when looking at more sustainable options for your new home build;
- From your initial appointment and during the first site inspections, we make sure the orientation of your home considers the direction of the sun, and that your home is positioned optimally and practically for efficient heating, cooling and lighting.
- We look at the addition of materials like Hebel, which bring added efficiency and insulation to your home, and it looks great!
- A popular addition, if space allows on your block, are rainwater tanks which not only contribute to reducing your water bill but also impact positively on water usage and drawing from town resources.
These are just some of the foundational considerations when it comes to a more sustainable home, and a part of the BLH way is to ensure our experienced and knowledgeable team stay across all the requirements, innovations and new products to support you right from the planning and selection stages, until you walk through the door of your dream home for the very first time.
To help bring efficiency to your home, our Sustainable Living upgrade is also currently available for a limited time. This upgrade is $5,000, and specifically contributes to insulation, double glazing and cooling.
If you’re ready to discover the possibilities, connect with our team and book your initial consultation online now.
